On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:20 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the Board entered into executive session at 7:30 p.m. to discuss current litigation, at which time the work session was ended on the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the executive session ended at 8:10 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:15 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Cardali.
Mayor Adams welcomed Trustee Cardali and wished all a Happy New Year.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the December 8th, 2020 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk read the letter from Fire Department dated December 17, 2020:
At the regular monthly meeting of the Fire Council held December 15, 2020, the Fire Council took the following actions and we await your approval:

On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the Fire Department actions as read.
On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to amend the resolution dated December 8th, 2020 to appoint Meredith Michaels to the Architectural Review Board to fill the unexpired term of Nancy Iglesias-Gillen which is to January 2022, effective December 8th, 2020.
On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for January 12th, 2021:
General Account: $ 508,123.86
Conklin House: $ 943.60
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 509,067.46
Capital Fund: $ 186,178.25
Trust Fund: $ 3,364.23
TOTAL: $ 698,609.94
On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the request of Barry Holmes to retire from the Village of Babylon effective December 12, 2020.
Trustee Silvestri commented on the upcoming events at the Conklin House which can be found on the Conklin House Facebook page.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Christ Episcopal Church to maintain temporary signs at various merchants in the Village from January 13th to February 7th, 2021 regarding the Superbowl of Caring food drive.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED that the Village establish a Safe Harbor standard measurement period of one year for a new, variable hour employee.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED that the Village has established a Safe Harbor standard measurement period of one year, from October 1st to September 30th, for the purpose of determining on-going variable hour employees.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED that the Village of Babylon will hold an Election on Tuesday,
March 16th, 2021, for Mayor and one Trustee, each for two years to fill unexpired terms, and for two Trustees and the Village Justice, each for a term of four years.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of John Broderick $1,000.00 effective January 6, 2021, having completed his six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Ken Rogers of Signal Building Corp. to maintain a temporary sign at 73 W. Main Street to advertise the retail space available and apartments for rent. This permission is granted contingent on the sign dimensions and rendering being provided to the Board.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to remove the exemptions as per the attached Assessor Petitions and bill the new owner(s) the Exempt Property Restoration for the Tax Year(s) as indicated on the attached chart.

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED that the Treasurer of the Village of Babylon be directed to hold a Tax Lien Sale to be held via video conference on Saturday, February 27th, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
Any parties interested in participating in the Tax Lien Sale should contact the Village Clerk’s Office at (631) 669-1500 no later than 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 26th, 2021 to provide an email address and receive instructions.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
This Election is for Mayor for two years to fill the unexpired term, a Trustee for two years to fill the unexpired term, and two Trustees and the Village Justice, each for a term of four years.
Trustee Seibert commented that he is looking into having some repair work and improvements made to the Gazebo area before the summer concert series.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Better Babylon Party to maintain temporary signs at various addresses in the Village from February 1st to March 18th, 2021 regarding the Better Babylon Party candidates in the 2021 Village Election to be held March 16th, 2021.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Vote for Babylon Party to maintain temporary signs at various properties in the Village from February 18th through March 18th, 2021 regarding the Vote for Babylon Party candidates in the 2021 Village Election to be held March 16th, 2021.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the attached contract renewal with Property Registration Champions, LLC (PROCHAMPS) for one year, through February 2, 2022.
Trustee Cardali commented that he was looking forward to working with the Board and serving the residents and thanked the Mayor for his appointment.
The Mayor made the following announcement:
Village of Babylon Offices will be closed and there will be no rubbish or garbage pick-up on Monday, January 18th, 2021 in observance of the Martin Luther King Day Holiday. Residents should not put rubbish or recycling out to the curb on holidays.
Mayor Adams wished all the residents and guests a safe, healthy, happy new year and reminded all to continue to social distance, wear masks, and sanitize hands.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:34 p.m.
