A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2025. Present: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Bencivenga, Trustee Cardali, Trustee Goodwin and Attorney Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 7:22 PM. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 8:08 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:10 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Goodwin.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the February 25, 2025 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk stated there was no correspondence.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amounts indicated to the applicants listed below for the return of ZBA signs. [Hearing Date 2/19/2025]

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold “I Love My Park Day” on May 3, 2025, from 9am-12pm at Argyle Park.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the g6pd Deficiency Foundation to hold a golf outing at the Sumpwams Creek Golf Course on Monday, June 23rd, 2025, start time 7:00 am – 2:00 pm. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured, as well as a signed & notarized hold harmless agreement.
And,
ALSO BE IT RESOLVED to waive the Open Container Section of the Village Code, Chapter 256, for the deck area only for this event.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold Shakespeare in the Park at the Village Gazebo performing Henry IV Part 1 on the following dates:
- Rehearsals: July 21 and 22 from 5-9pm
- Shows: July 23 and 30 and August 3 and 6 from 5-9pm (Showtime at 6:30pm)
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Esdras Granados by $1,000 effective February 27, 2025, having completed his six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to give James Bender a stipend of $2.00 per hour for EMS support effective March 11, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Goodwin, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for March 11, 2025:
GENERAL ACCOUNT: $ 280,960.76
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 280,960.76
CAPITAL FUND: $ 16,642.00
TOTAL: $ 297,602.76
On the motion of Trustee Goodwin, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph’s Church to conduct the annual ‘Stations of the Cross’ around Argyle Lake on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, with assistance from Village Code Enforcement. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured, as well as a signed & notarized hold harmless agreement.
The following announcements were made:
- Trustee Seibert stated summer employment applications for coaches and directors are still being accepted for the Summer Recreation programs.
- Trustee Bencivenga stated summer boat slips are being renewed/assigned and the golf course will open end of the month.
- Trustee Cardali announced the Village pool will open on Friday, June 27th at noon. Summer employment for the pool will begin. Registration for swim lessons and passes will be:
- Saturday, May 10th, 17th and 31st – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, at Village Hall
- Saturday. June 7th – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, at the Village Pool
- · Trustee Goodwin a book signing at the American Legion with author Tom McKeown, with an appearance by Glenn Vickers on Tuesday, March 18th. The Conklin House will have the patio/ deck fixed with a $5,000 grant. No house tours in March.
The meeting was opened to the public and the no one addressed the Board.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:23 PM.
