A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2022. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:30 PM. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the Board entered into executive session at 7:36 PM to discuss current litigation at which time the work session was ended on the motion of Trustee Seibert and seconded by Trustee Bencivenga. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the executive session ended at 8:02 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:06 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Silvestri.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the May 10, 2022 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk read the letter from Fire Department dated May 17, 2022:
At the regular monthly meeting of the Fire Council held May 17th, 2022 the Fire Council took the following actions and we await your approval:

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the Fire Department actions as read.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Heather D’Angelico $1,000 effective May 8, 2022, having completed her six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of George Polizzi $1,000 effective May 20, 2022, having completed his six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold a Bid Opening at 9:30 AM on Thursday, June 23, 2022, for Residential Sidewalks, Curbs, Curb Gutters, and Aprons. Bid Specifications will be available in the Office of the Village Clerk, Monday through Friday except holidays, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM beginning Thursday, June 9, 2022.
On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Veterans Yoga Project to maintain temporary 8.5” x 11” signs at various merchants in the Village and one 18” x 24” yard sign at the entrance to the Village from May 25 to June 25, 2022, to advertise the inaugural LI Duck Derby on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried,
WHEREAS a Bid Opening was held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, for plastic bags,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to award the bid to:

with a bid price of $30.24 per 100 bags.
On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to schedule a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 7:00 PM to consider the adoption of proposed Local Laws of 2022:
proposed Local Law 365-20 H of 2022 to prohibit vinyl or metal siding in the Retail Business District
proposed Local Law 281-8 of 2022
to change the term of rental permits to one year
Complete text of the above Local Laws will be available beginning June 2, 2022 in the Office of the Village Clerk and on the Village website, www.villageofbabylonny.gov.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to allow the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce to have window art at select stores beginning June of 2022.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Bob McKeown and M. Roman to maintain temporary 11” x 17” signs at various merchants in the Village to advertise the Babylon Pride Parade on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to refund Doug Madlon the $175 fee for use of the gazebo.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for May 24, 2022:
General Account: $ 329,714.57
Conklin House: $ 350.00
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 330,064.57

Trustee Seibert mentioned that the Memorial Day Parade will be held this Monday, May 30th.
Parks Day will be held next Saturday, June 4th; the Pickleball Tournament will be held June 4th and June 5th and the Pride Parade will be Sunday afternoon, June 5th.
Mayor Adams made the following announcement:
Village of Babylon Offices will be closed and there will be no rubbish or garbage pick-up on Monday, May 30, 2022, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. Residents should not put rubbish or recycling out to the curb on holidays.
