A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, MAY 28, 2024. Present were: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Cardali, Trustee Bencivenga, Trustee Miga and Village Attorney Charles J. Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 7:26 PM. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 8:00 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:04 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Miga.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the May 14, 2024 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department:

Trustee Seibert read the following and polled the Board;
RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon is the Lead Agency regarding proposed Local Law 0528PH of 2024 -§343-67 to amend Village Code Chapter §343-67, IX, to add stop signs, and therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees has determined this action will not have an adverse impact on the environment, and
WHEREAS a Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024,
BE IT HEREBY ENACTED that the following Local Law, proposed as Local Law 0528PH of 2024 -§343-67, is HEREBY ADOPTED as:
Local Law #___6_____ of 2024, amending Village Code Chapter §343-67, IX, to add stop signs at the following intersections:

On the motion of Trustee Miga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the United Presbyterian Church to hold a Blessing of the Backpacks at the Gazebo on Thursday, August 15th, 2024 from 6:00 – 6:30 PM.
On the motion of Trustee Miga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for May 28, 2024:
GENERAL ACCOUNT: $ 277,799.38
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 277,799.38

On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Kelly Bracero as a full time Office Assistant at an annual rate of $36,500, effective May 15, 2024.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED issue a refund in the amount of $880 to Richard Carbonaro for boat slip #5026 in Lewis Pond; resident giving up slip permanently as of the 2024 Season.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the building inspector’s recommendation to raise the house at 25 E. Shore Drive, subject to Village Attorney obtaining a court order to enforce that recommendation.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Sweet Sensations and Michael Cusumano of The Agency RE, to host an ice cream social on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6:30 -8:30 PM.
Trustee Cardali read the following and polled the Board;
RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon is the Lead Agency regarding Proposed Local Law 0528PH of 2024 -§302-3, to amend and add to the Village Code Chapter §302-3, Article I, Garbage Disposal.
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees has determined this action will not have an adverse impact on the environment, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024,

The following announcements were made:
- · Trustee Siebert reminded all that the Summer Recreation programs registrations will close May 31st. The 5th Annual Pickleball Tournament is this weekend.
- · Trustee Miga thanked Code for keeping everyone safe during Community Bike Ride, as well as the Ice Cream Man and Babylon Bike Shop for coming.
- · Trustee Bencivenga stated that boating and golfing season are under way. Golf Course will close in case of inclement weather.
- · Trustee Cardali stated swimming lessons and pool registration is still ongoing; the next dates are this Saturday, June 1st at Village Hall and next Saturday, June 8th at the Village pool. Car Show will be held at the Village Pool Sunday, June 9th; $20 entry fee will be donated to Strong Island Rescue. Thanks to the Highway Department and the Greenhouse crew for getting everything ready for the season.
The meeting was opened to the public and no one addressed the Board.
