A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2024. Present were Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Bencivenga and Trustee Cardali. Absent were Trustee Miga and Village Attorney Charles J. Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 7:00 PM. On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 8:00 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:05 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Bemcivenga.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the November 12, 2024 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated November 21st, 2024:
At the regular monthly meeting of the Fire Council held November 19th, 2024, the Fire Council took the following actions and we await your approval:

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the Fire Department actions as read.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Kelly Bracero by $1,000 effective November 15, 2024, having completed her six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Timothy Martin by $1,000 effective November 13, 2024, having completed his six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Matthew Gargiulo by $1,000, effective July 29, 2024, having completed his six-month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to have Raymond Peterson return to work from Family Medical Leave on November 15, 2024.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $363.37 to Mary Ann Gomez for overpayment of 2024/25 taxes on the property located at 104 Ralph Avenue. [005-03-086]
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant the application of Thomas DelFrancesco of T.D. Vending Corporation to operate a Mister Softee Ice Cream Truck in the Village of Babylon for the 2025 season. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a signed and notarized hold harmless agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church to use Argyle Park at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, January 12, 2025, for the annual Blessing of the Waters. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for November 26, 2024:
GENERAL ACCOUNT: $ 342,953.72
CONKLIN HOUSE: $ 105.00
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 343,058.72

The following announcements were made:
- Trustee Seibert stated the Conklin House Christmas season is in full swing with the Annual Cookie contest Thursday, December 5th and an Open House Friday, December 6th. Also, Lewis Circle playground should be installed by the new year.
- Trustee Bencivenga reminded all that boating season ends Sunday, December 8th to accommodate the annual Boat parade on Saturday, November 30th. Boats must be out of the water by that date so we can place boats for winter mooring. The golf course will stay open as long as weather allows. Trustee Bencivenga will also be handling the Volunteer Corps and will be organizing volunteers for the winter. Trustee Bencivenga also wanted to take a moment to remember Bruse Romanitch, the security guard at the dock house who recently passed away.
- Trustee Cardali thanked the American Legion for hosting the Veterans’ Day parade.
- The Mayor wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and announced Village Hall will close at noon on Wednesday, November 27th and closed Friday, November 29th.
The meeting was opened to the public and no one addressed the Board.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:16 PM.
