A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on TUESDAY, JUNE 15th, 2021. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 4:45 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the Board entered into executive session at 5:15 p.m. to discuss current litigation, at which time the work session was ended on the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, the executive session ended at 6:20 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Deputy Mayor Frank Seibert.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 7:00 PM by video conference to consider the application of George Cosentino to expand the patio area to allow for additional outdoor seating at Ristorante Gemelli, 175 E. Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702.
Copy of application and plans may be examined by contacting the Village Clerk’s Office at (631) 669-1500, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Mr. Cosentino explained his plans to the Board to expand the patio area to allow for additional space and outdoor seating. Due to the pandemic, some people are still hesitant to dine indoors or sit too close to others. Increasing the patio and seating [approximately 4 tables] gives him the opportunity to seat people further apart outside. The patio is seasonal only, as this is a restaurant, not a bar. The landscaping will be similar to the current landscaping, just pushed back to allow for the expansion, and will offer privacy yet still be visible enough so that people know there is outdoor seating.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to reserve decision.

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the hearing adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
